Reversible dress or blouse tutorial

I saw this adorable reversible dress/top from Riley Blake's website
and knew I had to make one.

this FREE tutorial is from Carina Gardener
she has made it very easy to follow, with lots of great add on's for the more experienced sewer.

The hardest part is choosing what fabric to use, which was easy for me since the Chevron prints are so hot right now, and I'm totally loving the aqua color.

The next hard choice is to choose the fabric that makes it reversible, so I choose eyelet grey from Flea Market fancy. another favorite of mine.

I love how this dress turned out!

now to make a dress out of each chevron color
and since it's reversible I can get 2 colors in dress.

{i love this door}

my little one loves her dress..

so the best part about this tutorial is that there is a video showing you how to...
so if you are a visual person this video is awesome.

sewing with ruffle fabric take 2

I have to say I really love creating with ruffle fabric.

it's so quick and easy and no hemming
 which is the best part.

so far I've made leggings, skirt and a dress,
my first legging I posted here, and used this tutorial here.

Here is my skirt I made for me and a Easter dress for my daughter
this dress was so fast and easy to make. all I did was use another dress as a template, layed my fabric over to copy the size. I then sewed the sides, right side together and it was done. very simple but oh so cute!

as for my purple ruffle skirt, I used this tutorial here. another great pinterest find.

as far as little girls go, you can never have enough leggings..
so, with that said I made another pair.

for this legging I used the raspberry and cream striped ruffle

I really liked this color because it's also great for the holidays
and fun Christmas leggings.

this color goes perfect with her pillowcase dress
so get started and make your own leggings, skirt or ruffle dress.

it seriously is the fastest clothing you will ever make!!!!

Featured Webbing belt Tutorial - from OrangePeel Baby

I'm so excited to introduce you to Abby from OrangePeel Baby
If I could describe her in 5 words they would be,

Yes, that right she is my cousin.

Although we were raised more than 2000 miles apart and only saw each other during summer vacations our love of fabric, sewing and all around crafty-ness has brought us together.

She is very talented and her creations show it off. Abby has a awesome shop on etsy where she sells her beautiful quilts and creations.

here are some of those adorable items

She is here today to share with us a super easy and adorable webbing belt for our little ones.
she used Echino Nico stitched webbing.

                                                              Aren't these fun colors?

here's Abby.....

Greetings, Poppyseed Fabric Fans.  As soon as I saw this webbing I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, and since it actually worked, I wanted to share with you how to make a fantastically easy webbing belt.  Really, this is about a 5 minute project.  FAB.  Gather your goodies: I used this delightful raspberry webbing, some matching (ish) thread, and some 1 inch D rings (got mine at Joanns but they should have them at just about any craft store, as well as all over etsy).

Measure the waist your belt is destined to adorn and add 3-4".  Seal off each end of the webbing so it won't fray.  You could use fray check,  I just used a match.

Then you're going to slide your D rings onto one end like so:

Fold the edge of the webbing over them both, maybe about an inch.
Here's where a zipper foot will really come in handy.  If you have one it lets you sew a little closer to the rings.  If not, no worries, just sew as close to the rings as your foot will let you.  Be sure to backstitch at both ends.

My model didn't want to hold still and model, but you get the idea.

Got boys? There are a few "manlier" ways to close this belt.  I picked up these super simple strap adjusters. Same drill but instead of sewing on two D rings you just slip one strap adjuster on one end of the webbing and sew.

Boy approved.  Looks like he really needed a belt, too.

Pretty simple and so fun...enjoy!

I'm back and I have some goodies for you!

Is it really Friday? I feels like I'm just trying to catch up ever since Memorial weekend...
Where does the time go?
For me having family in town has lead me to catch up on emails, listing new fabric and of course blogging..
But I'm back and have so many things to tell you about.

First off I hope you had a wonderful Memorial weekend and were able to get some fabric during our sale.

As for yummy goodies, Lucy's Crab Shack arrived over the holiday weekend, and I can't stop looking at this collection. It is just so adorable for the summer and I have so many idea of what I want to create using this fabric.

Need inspiration? check out this awesome quilt by Sweetwater.

Lucy's Crab shack by Sweetwater for Moda

here are some of my favorite prints,

We have sorted the prints and created 2 big bundles for you

We also got in all the precuts, which will make sewing up a quilt that much faster.

                                                                            Jelly roll

                                                                        Charm Pack

                                                                           Layer Cake

Of course we also have created the "create your own bundle"
of different cuts so you can pick and choose your own items.

Get sewing and I would love to see what you create with this adorable fabric.
