"Circles" project sneak peek
I'm in love with metro living circles from Robert Kaufman found here especially the turquoise, fuchsia and chartreuse colors.
These circles are so much fun, remember when we made our wall hanging tutorial here?
What I did was pick my favorites along with some great solids of white and brights.
This will be a strip quilt, as you can see. And I can't wait to show you the end result, let just say there's some rose cuddle involved.

Rose Cuddle strip quilt
One of my forever friends wanted to make her little son a fun, warm blanket for this winter. She picked her favorite prints which included fabrics from Urban Zoologie, Smirk and metro living circles. She backed it with rose cuddle in camel. I can't tell you enough how much I love this fabric! It's so soft and awesome you just want to snuggle.
She made a strip quilt by cutting the fabrics in different widths but keeping the length of the fabric, this gave the quilt a fun, funky feel. Once the strips were all sewn together she put right side together with the rose cuddle and sewed up all the edges. Basically she followed our tutorial HERE on making a blanket using rose cuddle.
Another great thing she did was make it long, that way her little boy can grow into it and always have a great blanket to snuggle.
Don't forget to grab a quilt kit we have made out of the rose cuddle fabric HEREwe have only girls in stock but this week will be listing more girls and boy kits.
also we just got in from the AMAZING Suzy Ultman and her new collection CRITTER COMMUNITY both panel fabrics in bermuda and retro orange.
these are so fun, I can't wait to make up a wall hanging.

quick tote tutorial
love these fun, easy totes I whipped up a few weekends ago..They are made out of Echino-Nico's fabric that can be found HERE by using these fabrics as compared to quilting cotton your bag is nice and sturdy and durable.
These are fun and only take about 20 mins. Go HERE for the full tutorial.
After cutting off my selvage, I couldn't let this go to waist, she is one of my favorite designers and all. I zig zag stitched it to one of the handles and totally love it!

"Orange You Glad"
When we first gave a sneak peak of this quilt HERE, we didn't know what to call it. Thanks to some suggestions from YOU our awesome readers on what to name it we had some great names to pick from. We loved the name "Orange you glad" from Sallie (thanks sallie), so here it is..
ORANGE YOU GLAD....
This quilt is entirely made up of greys and oranges, which I think makes a awesome combo!
This awesome quilt was so easy and fun to make. I found this pattern out of a old Fons and Porter's quilt magazine, back from Fall 09, it's titled Easy quilts -18 quick projects. The name of the quilt is called Serendipity. I tried to go onto their website and link it but could not find it anywhere. It's seems to have been removed.. :(
This quilt is made up of 5 different prints many of these prints are either sold out or discontinued but here they all are for references.
SPOTTED OWL SMOKE -Alexander Henry
BLOOM GREY - Paula prass
HUEVOS GREY - Michael miller
ZEN GARDEN SHERBET - patty young
CIRCLES ON ORANGE - Lizzy house
The back is pieced using metro circles orange for half and dot n square for the other half. Sandwiched between these two pieces is a pieced bordered strip using the same fabric left overs from the front.
It's quilted using a wonky square free motion designed that I first had seen over on Oh Fransson. I loved the look from the start. Mine is a big more wonky then hers, since I'm still a newbie at free motion quilting, but I love the look none the less.
details:
measurements: 54" x 72"
5 fabrics used
pieced backing
binding: holly jolly polka dot grey
quilted: free motion wonky squares by me
